INNOVATIVE MODEL OF EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN WITH HEARING DISORDERS
Abstract
In the modern system of education of children with special educational needs, there are educational institutions that have significant potential for developing innovative educational models. The Mykola Yarmachenko Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has been fruitfully cooperating with the staff of the Municipal Institution of the Lviv Regional Council «Pidkaminska Special School with Advanced Professional Training» for a long time. The school is an experimental site of the Institute, a cooperation agreement has been concluded, during which modern approaches and innovative technologies for teaching students with special educational needs are being developed. The Pidkaminska Special School was one of the first to introduce professional training for students with hearing impairments in popular specialties, and an all-Ukrainian scientific and pedagogical experiment was implemented on its basis.
The purpose of the article: presentation of an innovative model of a special educational institution based on the work of the Municipal Institution of the Lviv Regional Council «Pidkaminska Special School with Advanced Professional Training».
Research methods: methods of theoretical analysis of literary sources; analysis of regulatory documents, materials of experimental work; study and generalization of domestic and international experience in organizing an educational environment for students with hearing impairments.
Based on the results of the all-Ukrainian scientific and pedagogical experiment on the basis of the Podkaminsk special school, an innovative model of a new type of institution was developed and tested - a special general education school, which provides an appropriate level of vocational education, tasks, forms and methods of work on the vocational training of students were determined in accordance with each level of education. Important conditions were identified as adherence to the practical, applied direction of teaching the basics of science in schools for children with hearing impairment, ensuring continuity between general education and vocational training, strengthening inter-subject and intra-subject connections, taking into account the knowledge that is formed in all lessons.
